SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Hotel Astoria is located on one of the busiest streets of Lviv - Horodotska, the former Krakivska Road, built in 1912-1914.

Lviv researcher Yuri Biryulov calls A. Hartl the author of the house design. This name is practically no longer found in the list of architects of Lviv of that time. But drawings from the State Regional Archives bear a stamp of another building firm - the famous architect of Lviv, Adolf Piller, who worked before the First World War. In the period of 1914-1944, the building hosted the Frid’s Hotel "Astoria". After the war, it got a new name – the Kyiv Hotel.
